Taking Entertainment and Sports Video Production to HD Quality in Mobile Production Environment
Mansion Mobile Television of Branson, Missouri decided it was time to take their Sports and Entertainment mobile production capabilities high-definition. Their SD unit was at capacity doing NCAA and regional professional sports, but Mansion Mobile knew they needed to expand their offering into the realm of HD production.
After an exhaustive qualification process, Mansion Mobile selected Diversified to integrate the new trailer and oversee the chassis construction. “We looked at every integrator prominent in the sports video production market place,” said Dave Goodman, Vice President of Engineering. “It was obvious to us Diversified offered a very high level of engineering, design and attention to detail in the integration of the chassis. Now that she’s done, we’re more convinced than ever we made the right decision.”
Diversified leveraged its strong vendor relationships on behalf of Mansion Mobile TV in the procurement of the equipment required. The trailer is equipped with the latest generation of the Grass Valley LDK-8000 World Cameras and Canon lenses giving MMTV 720p, 1080i and 24p capability.
“We wanted a vehicle designed for sports production with a mind towards our support of entertainment production,” said Goodman. “The 24p capability, the overall value and Grass Valley’s improvements to the World Cam became a big factor in our decision to go with the LDKs.”
Diversified’s custom design and metal fabrication capability were key factors for Mansion Mobile. Keystone pieces like the 136 image production monitor wall and framework enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the crew work environment. “We want people to enjoy working in our truck,” said Brad Palmer, Vice President of Operations. “Diversified delivered with that goal in mind, from the very first meeting with the chassis builder [Calutech].”
