Kevin Collins Discusses the Future of AV with Inavate.TV
Will subscription-based AV services become a reality?
In a panel discussion at ISE in Amsterdam, Diversified’s President, Kevin Collins, sat down with Inavate.TV to talk about the future of AV and how the subscription-based applications pioneered by companies like Netflix, Microsoft and Adobe may soon become a reality for the AV industry as well.
Collins comments, “The business models and the business cases to do it are still evolving…it might resonate more with some clients and less with others.”
Still, with emerging IP-based and platform-driven infrastructure, the AV industry is certainly changing and we’re starting to see facility upgrades, monitoring and maintenance as part of one succinct package.
“All of us are working on enterprise roll outs for clients with standard solutions,” Collins adds. “It’s a natural evolution for them to be packaged as a service, where you’re just paying one flat monthly fee, the service (break-fix) is covered and any kind of future upgrades are covered in that as well.”
