Sports Video Group: Dickies Arena Multipurpose Facility Unveiled in Fort Worth, TX

Diversified installs powerful control room technology, creating memorable in-venue experiences for a diverse audience of sports fanatics.

Diversified had the privilege of providing arena control room technology for the newly opened Dickies Arena—a 560,000-sq-ft multipurpose facility with 14,000 seats that handles a variety of live events from concerts to rodeos. Covered in a recent article by SVG, the stadium’s seating capacity adapts based on what type of event is being held, meaning the production strategy needed to be flexible to accommodate.

“To handle the diversified schedule, Dickies recruited technology integrator Diversified to assemble a powerful control room.”

Diversified partnered with Trail Drive Management Corp to provide the design-build for a flexible HD production system that includes the ability to adapt the settings of the control room based on the type of event being hosted.

“We had a great vision [of the project] given to us by Andy [technical manager at Dickies Arena]. He was able to put together his wants and needs for the project and communicate that to us effectively,” says Lane Baird, project manager, Diversified. “We went off and designed the system based on his 1080p/59.94 requirements.”

Given the highly advanced technology upgrades and adaptability to any type of live event, it is no surprise that Diversified’s control room technology will be utilized for many nationally recognized events for years to come. Dickies Arena is already receiving invitations to host the 2020 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship, the American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2020, 2021, and 2022; and the first and second rounds of the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
