Broadcast studio moves to uncompressed 4K transmission over IP.
While broadcast manufacturers are in the process of building products for the transmission of uncompressed 4K video, Jay Park, Director of International Projects, and the Diversified APAC team helped QVC make the shift to uncompressed 4k transmission over IP based on SMPTE ST2110 media standards.
Park says, “We were charting new waters with the QVC project. Deploying an uncompressed 4k video signal transmission over IP system was new to us. The deployment for the system was different. Traditionally, you have all these patches and a tried and tested method of getting the sytems up and running. But commissioning for QVC Japan was almost entirely via programming.”
